Blaise castle AKA Eden

Blaise castle AKA Eden

Today I went to Blaise castle, which is in Bristol (BS10), I have never been there, but I’ve always wanted to.

The first thing that I saw was a huge green area, with a couple of pathways and since I’ve never been there I took left and I’m glad I did! On my left down was Hazel Brook, on my right is the Blaise hill, the whole footpath was covered with trees on both sides. The footpath (gorge) was full of loud birds and the river 🙂 In about 5 minutes of walking and I was at the Stratford Mill. I don’t think it’s still working but it’s a good photo theme. After the Mill, I continued walking on the path and there were so many people with babies, dogs or out for a walk. No wonder since it’s a beautiful place and today was beautiful, the weather was as well 🙂

After 3 minutes of walking, I’ve arrived at the Soap Dish (Yes. That’s actually its name) which is a lake, with a little waterfall close to the lake. I sat for a couple of minutes to listen to the waterfall. After that, I walked towards Blaise Castle. The castle itself is in up on the hill and I hate hills and stairs…but I had to do it:) After an infinite amount of time of walking up the endless stairs, I arrived at the castle which was closed ( I’m seeing a pattern here.), but I didn’t mind. From here I was able to overlook Avonmouth and the Avon Gorge which was a fantastic sight:) After a couple of minutes of rest I’ve decided to search for the Fort but I only found a cricket field so I went back to the entrance and left the building to write this blog 🙂

I hope you have a great week so far, and I will see you in the next one 🙂

  1. Love that you embeded a slide show into this post. Looks like a gorgeous place to visit!

    1. It is indeed:) I find it clearer that way, rather than just put some pictures randomly:) Thank you!

  2. What a lovely castle! When I was in England I loved stumbling into random ruins and castles!

    1. Yes, it is! But between us, I prefer ruins or derelict buildings more 🙂
